Echo closed the door to Devon's bedroom softly, having checked on him for the third time this evening. It had been three days since Rain made her stormy exit, and the professor was still a wreck. He hardly ever ate, and only slept when the whiskey they could not pry from his hand forced him to. Vel had taken pity on the man and had woven a sleeping spell about him so that he might actually get some rest and escape his anguish over the loss of his only child. Both she and Vel had been staying at Devon's home for the last three days and, when finally feeling better, Tearlin had joined them this afternoon. T
